Teaching
Teaching has been a journey of sharing and mutual enlightenment, as much for me as for my students. Over the past five years, I’ve taught large group lessons, summer camps, non-profit lecture series, and private students both in person and online for over 500 hours, covering a range of music areas such as songwriting, beat making, orchestral composition, and mixing. From a 12-year-old girl wishing to compose a Christmas song, to college students majoring in music and middle-aged hobbyists participating in my summer camps, I have mentored students of all ages through the process of guiding them to create the original music they envisioned.

Private Lessons

Music writing is a universal form of expression accessible to everyone. Starting in 2018, I've been providing personalized music lessons designed to assist students in turning their creative visions into musical realities. My lessons aren’t particularly focused on one specific skill, but project-centered and output-driven. At the outset, students propose a music project that captures their imagination, establishing a clear goal within a specific time frame. Subsequently, my role is to equip them with the precise knowledge and skills necessary to realize their musical aspirations (pop songs, film scores, sound design, etc). This approach fosters a dynamic and goal-oriented learning experience, empowering students to take ownership of their musical journey.

PCM Graduate Assistantship
At the Peabody Computer Music Department (PCM), where I have been awarded a Graduate Assistantship since August 2022, my responsibilities encompass studio maintenance, equipment testing, and concert production. I also work as a teaching assistant for several courses, including "Introduction to Computer Music 1 & 2," required for first-year Computer Music majors, and "Synthesis Theory 1," where I help introduce students to the fundamentals of electrical engineering and physical computing in music. Additionally, I assist in the Computer Music Seminar series, a weekly event that discusses contemporary developments in music technology or features departmental concerts.

Junior Bach Program

From 2021 to 2022, I served as a Composition Instructor in the Junior Bach Program, offering weekly, individual composition lessons to middle school students from the St. Ignatius Loyola Academy and the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. The creative work of these young composers then culminated in a semesterly concert featuring conservatory performers from the Peabody Institute.

Teaching at Summer Camps
As a singer-songwriter with millions of streams, I annually host a 10-day songwriting camp in person during the summer. This unique camp is designed to guide beginner students in the art of crafting an original song from start to finish. The camp's closed-door training environment ensures that participants are fully immersed in the learning and songwriting process during this timeframe. At the culmination of the camp, the students have the exciting opportunity to showcase their song in a final performance open to the public.
